Rules & Regulations:
Length of Game: 12 - 12 - 15
- Teams must register at least one hour prior to their first game
- All teams will be guaranteed four games in preliminary play
- No Player can be added to their Roster after the first game
- Players on your first sheet become the Tournament Roster
- Players can only register on one team Roster
- Maximum 19 Players registered and eligible to dress for games
- Photocopy of birth certificate must be available at time of registration
- Any team found with ineligible player participation in a game will result in an automatic 1-0 win for the opposing team.
- No running clocks. If 10 goals or more separate teams at the of the second period, or any time during the third, the scoreboard will not display any additional goals.
- Teams must be ready to play 15 minutes before posted game time
- A 2 minute warm up will be allowed prior to all games
- The Referee has discretion to "run the clock" should teams delay due to prolonged warm up
- On 30 second time-out will be allowed per game (including overtime)
- Ice surface will be flooded at the conclusion of each game
- Dressing rooms must be vacated 20 minutes after each game
- Teams are responsible for ensuring their dressing rooms are locked and secure at all times, it is the teams responsibility to provide their own locks
- Neck Guards are recommended for USA teams but not mandatory
- *Any Player receiving a game misconduct will be suspended for the remainder of the game. If the suspension occurs at any time during the 3rd period the Player will also sit out the 1st period of the next game
- Tournament Committee can review suspension and has final say on all suspensions
- There shall be NO PROTESTS - the decision of the Tournament Committee shall be final
- The Tournament Committee reserves the right to rule on items not previously covered and Hockey Canada does not permit a Referee penalty call to be changed unless said Referee agrees to change in writing.
- "Curve Stick" rule does not apply for this tournament
- No starting lineup rule
- Official Home and Visitor statis will be designated on game sheets
- Managers or Coaches must sign all game sheets 15 minutes prior to every game
- It is preferable that each team carries two contrasting sets of sweaters with them.
- It is the responsibility of the Home Team to change color of sweaters if they are too similar to their opponents (Referees discretion for safety)
- The tournament office will maintain a set of "Pinnies" and old Marlboro jerseys in case of extreme solutions
TIES - METHOD OF DECLARING DIVISION STANDINGS, RANKINGS, & WILD CARDS
- If two teams are tied in points, whichever team won the game played against the team, which it is tied with, places higher, i.e. “head to head”.
- Whichever team earned more wins based on Preliminary Play. However in Round-Robin play if more than two teams are tied, whichever team earned more points (wins & ties included), based on games between the teams tied.
- If still tied, add the goals for and against together and divide into the goals for, the team with the highest percentage places higher. When applying this formula the maimum goal differential is any game shall be no greater than 10.
- If still tied... least goals against
If still tied... most goals for
If still tied... fewest penalty minutes (Majors & Misconducts included)
If still tied... coin toss
OVERTIME PROCEDURE
- Teams do not change ends
- First five (5) minutes teams are 4 on 4 play
- Second five (5) minutes is 3 on 3 play until one team scores
A penalty incurred during the "3 on 3" will result in the non offending team adding an additional player to the ice until the expiration of the penalty and the first stoppage of play.
Insurance:
The Toronto Marlboros June Face-Off and its Tournament Committee will not be held responsible for injuries caused by a player or spectator. Please ensure that all players are covered by insurance before participating in the Tournament.
Tournament Awards:
Tournament Champion and Finalist will receive trophies for each member of their team.
All players will receive a free T-Shirt upon team registration.
