Minor Pee Wees Capture Super Series Championship

| On the weekend our Minor Pee Wee Marlboros travelled to Buffalo, New York to participate in the Super Series AAA Tournament. After going through the round robin portion undefeated the team advanced to the semi-finals to play Colorado Thunderbirds. The boys brought their best and came out on top with a lopsided win of 7-1. The victory pushed them into the final against a Philadelphia Little Flyers team which they had previously beaten in the tournament by a 4-3 margin. The game was a nail-biter in that play started in 3rd period with the game still scoreless. Not to be denied the Blue and White scored the only goal of the game and stood up defensively to earn a 1-0 shutout championship win. Not only was the championship victory exciting for the team, but to have Joe Sakic come into the dressing room to meet and congratulate the boys will certainly be a keep sake memory. |
